In a good way

Shriek!!

Asps. Very dangerous. You go first.

FOXNews.com - Lucas: ‘Indiana Jones 4′ at Last

And Harrison Ford will apparently be in it.

I am very hesitantly, excited.

“…I love magic.”

I went to the 9am showing of Harry Potter, obviously.

It’s absolutely gorgeous. I’m one of the people that said “make it four hours and have an intermission” because I thought it couldn’t be done in less than that. It didn’t feel at all like 2-1/2+ hours, but it didn’t feel butchered, either. They just stuck to the main story, and did it beautifully. The special effects, needless to say, are fantastic. And Cho is freakin’ adorable. Her accent is so…. freakin’ adorable. It all just works.

And, 9am show on a schoolday = no kids. Primo.

If you have the opportunity to see it in IMAX, do so.

Art Imitates Life

I was driving from Pasadena to North Carolina to see my biological father in 1996, and hit a deer. Everyone’s heard that story. Totalled the car, lots of stitches.

Anyway, I had my pet snake with me, and since the car was totalled, I had to take her on the plane with me. I couldn’t get permission from the airline on such short notice, so I bought a pair of pantyhose and dropped her in them, tied the waist shut, and stuck her in my bra.

Fortunately it was winter, so I could leave my giant sweatshirt and coat on, and hope everyone was drinking enough to think my undulating chest was their imagination.

The movie sounds lame, anyway.

Hello. My name is Eowyn. You killed my uncle. Prepare to die!

The full Lord of the Rings film trilogy, as told through Princess Bride quotes.

More depressing than I would’ve thought

This sucks.

BRISTOL, England — The company behind the new “Wallace and Gromit” film said Monday its “entire history” has been destroyed in a fire at a warehouse containing props and sets.

The sets from those shorts — “A Grand Day Out,” “The Wrong Trousers” and “A Close Shave” — are all thought to have been destroyed, along with those from “Chicken Run” — Aardman’s first feature-length release.

with a capital S. I mean, perspective, sure, but it still sucks.

Cho makes up for Fleur

The final trailer is up for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Soon, my dearies. Soooooooon.

Count Olaf!!

Ohmigod! I just saw the trailer for A Series of Unfortunate Events. It looks SO good!

The kid playing Klaus is too old, but I don’t think it’s going to be a problem, because Klaus acts much older than his age anyway. Jim Carrey is going to be so awesome.

Napalm in the Morning

MJ FEATURE: The 50 Best Guy Movies Of All Time

I’m pleased to see The Dirty Dozen ranked so high. But c’mon, Rocky’s higher than Taxi Driver? And Apocalypse Now? Rocky doesn’t even have any good lines. How are you going to beat “You talkin’ to me? There ain’t nobody else here. You must be talking to me,” with “Adriaaaan!” Feh.

Funny, the huge difference between this list and imdb’s Top 50 movies voted for by male users, too. Even though the imdb list didn’t specify “guy flicks,” they should by definition, be guy flicks, right? Er, except Amelie at #24. At least there’s nudity in it.

Quantum Foam Film

Wicked! They made a movie out of Timeline. That’s one of my favorite books. They obviously changed the plot a little, because in the book, it’s the professor, not the father that’s lost, but it looks really good anyway. Quantum Physics meets 14th century knighthood.
