I swear, it’s never anything normal with me… So I’m flying back from Denver last Friday, and my right arm really hurts. It had been a little sore earlier in the week, but by the time I got home, I could barely use my arm. I couldn’t pick up my suitcase or even press the button on the car door. So I’m checking out my wrist, where it hurts the most, and there’s this big lump, which looks like bone, right where my wrist bends. I’m thinking, wonderful, it’s either dislocated or broken — I wonder how I did it? So I went to urgent care to have it checked out (it was that or saw my arm off at the elbow. It hurt like crazy), and it’s actually a cyst. The reason it hurts so much is because it’s inside the tendon. Yuck. Never anything normal. Never, like, a broken bone or mono or something everyone gets. Nope. Bell’s Palsy. E coli poisoning. Copperhead bite. Kill a deer with a Honda at 80 mph in Oklahoma! Whatever.
