snowy

snowy snowy snow! i thought it stopped ages ago, but it didn’t, and it’s starting add up…

p.s.- hi anne! :o)

105.1

there’s this radio station here, 105.1. no format ever seems to last more than six months to a year. when i moved here, it was “alternative classics.” eighties kroq. the cure, the smiths, the ramones, the clash, whatever. very cool. i went to london for a year, and when i got back, it was pure eighties. madonna, michael jackson, prince, with splashes of alternative. i went to nashville for six months, and when i got back it was mostly seventies funk. george clinton, sly stone, with bits of prince and some of the more far-out disco. and it just changed again. on my way to work, they played “life in a northern town,” by dream academy, something by dave matthews, and “fields of gold,” by sting. i only live two-and-a-half songs from work, so it could take me a while to figure out what format they’re going for. but so far i’ve heard no dj’s and no commercials. woohoo! and three decades in three songs is fine with me.

sigh

*sigh*

not much

i had such wicked diarrhea of the mouth yesterday. of the fingers, i guess. i was babbling like a maniac on everybody’s journal but my own. too much coffee. today i’m just swamped with meetings. and i called them all, so i can’t winge out. ugh, i’m getting rid of that cam picture as soon as i get home. i put it up because i thought it was cute and mischievous last night. now i just think i look like a cow…

babble

babble babble babble babble.

pippi

the author of pippi longstocking died today. woohoo!!! a happy day for redheads everywhere!! no, not really. but i really did hate being called “pippi” as a kid.

brunch1

sugarsounds sunday brunch - idea blatantly stolen from heather. i’m going to post sunday brunch songs. they’ll normally be earlier than this… i won’t leave them up for long, maybe a week or two, since they take up so much bloody space, so get ‘em while they’re hot.

melt

right, so it’s been close to fifty degrees for two days. so the flying dog, needless to say, is a lake. it was pretty gross yesterday, but today, there were like fifty square feet that were under less than six inches of water. we got there eventually. a friend of ours said, laughing, “goliath squishes when he walks.” i don’t think he’s ever been that muddy. so, like an idiot, i come home, dork around outside, chipping ice, bringing some things in from the garage for seeds, and let goliath in. la di da, i have to go to the garden supply store, and get some scotch, since it’s closed tomorrow. blah blah. did i ever dry goliath off? oh just guess. so i get home and all of the mud is caked on. the last time i took him into the shower with me, he tried to kill me. in his defense, he was very sick at the time. this time he was momma’s sweet little bear. i reasoned with him. “this is both of our fault…” and he was surprisingly patient, but heavy on the guilt looks. if i had a digital camera, i’d take a picture. i’ve never seen him dripping wet with his winter coat before. so cute.
