boo!

have a lovely and blessed samhain, boys and girls.

(and lots of fun and chocolate, too)

click to supersize. thanks to everyone who voted. no puppies were harmed in the making of these pictures. (he loves getting dressed up)

*sigh*

i swore this morning that today was going to be the one day this week that i made it home from work before dark.

silly me.

and yes. yes, i do get to work at 7am.

dat’s gonna leave a mark.

cnn.com - girls pummel man who exposed himself

a man described by authorities as a known sexual predator was chased through the streets of south philadelphia by an angry crowd of catholic high school girls, who kicked and punched him after he was tackled by neighbors, police said friday.

susanto was later treated for injuries at a local hospital. police said he would be charged with 14 criminal counts including harassment, disorderly conduct, open lewdness and corrupting the morals of a minor.

sweet.

(update: cath. o. lic. schoolgirls rule. cath’lic school girls roo-ool. i wonder if i still have that cd somewhere…)

*snort*

you know how you hold it in and try not to laugh out loud at conversations you overhear? i failed.

vizzini’s father-in-law died last week, after a long cancer hospice. we all knew it was coming, but he’s worried about his daughters, mostly. one of the guys asked him what they’re doing for halloween, and vizzini said “we have to go to temple tonight.” and the guy responded, i swear to god, “temple? where’s that, arizona?”

calendar shock

huh. nanowrimo starts tonight.

so much for that outline i was going to write…

ya mama’s an extra on the simpsons an’ shit.

pharcyde - ya mama.mp3 (you missed it)

the jeep doesn’t have a cd player (yet), so i’ve been playing ancient mix tapes. prepare for much old school.

success! hmmmm. success?

incidentally, i figured this out.

apparently the movie was beyond therapy, because that’s where i found the line, but i have no memory of having seen it. and the actress isn’t jennifer tilly, it’s the woman who played elaine in the airplane movies. but she does have a similar voice, so maybe that really is the movie. but it’s got christopher guest and jeff goldblum in it too, and i’d think i would have remembered that if i’d seen it…

anyway. anybody have it and wanna cut me a .wav? no?

mainlining caffeine

yeah, baby.

researchers found a medium (16 ounce) cup of the house blend at starbucks packs an average of 259 milligrams of caffeine compared with only 143 milligrams in the same-sized cup of coffee at dunkin donuts.

i was just remembering this morning how good the coffee at dunkin donuts used to be. my girl suzanne and i used to go to one in maine. i haven’t been there in years. maybe i’ll stick with the expensive stuff after all. when they stop selling chai, i mean…

researchers found that the caffeine content of a medium cup starbucks breakfast blend coffee purchased from the same shop had caffeine levels ranging from 259 milligrams to 564 milligrams.

hell yeah. you know that’s at 10:30am when it’s been sitting for a while. stale coffee kicks your ass. i might need that tomorrow.

busy busy busy

meetings, classes, meetings, classes.

but i figured out how to link to this thru our handy dandy cool new portal tool.

back to work. have some fun for me.

ow.

i just read this, and i just had to post it, because i honestly never thought of it that way before…

“not too long ago, two friends of mine were talking to a cuban refugee, a businessman who had escaped from castro, and in the midst of his story one of my friends turned to the other and said, ‘we don’t know how lucky we are.’ and the cuban stopped and said, ‘how lucky you are! i had someplace to escape to.’

in that sentence he told us the entire story. if we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. this is the last stand on earth.” –ronald reagan
