It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

This is my favorite time of year at ThinkGeek.

Today’s special is Buzzaire, a caffeine inhaler. For people who don’t have the time for instant coffee.

(iZilla is pretty cool too.)

Grrrr

The guy who sits over the wall from me has a cell phone that fucking meows.

It’s incredibly irritating on the best day, and I’ve had a rough one today. And I swear by all that’s holy, if he sits there bitching about his wife calling so often, letting it ring instead of just answering it, or god forbid, turning the ringer off, he’s going to find it used as a suppository.

For Your Perusal

Wondermark is the best online cartoon since Perry Bible Fellowship.

A few examples, for your amusement (as always, click for full-size version):

Outstanding

Live-Action Simpsons opening credits. So much detail. Awesome.

Not sure it’s for the same reason…

Everyone cares that I have this shirt too, right? Right?

Feeling guilty

Anybody else think they meant Jean Stapleton, and get really sad? Oy.

Ahhhh, those holy Christian ideals.

Boston Catholic Charities Halts Adoptions

The Boston Archdiocese’s Catholic Charities said Friday it would stop providing adoption services because of a state law allowing gays and lesbians to adopt children.

“The world changed often and we adapted the ministry to meet changing times and needs. At all times we sought to place the welfare of children at the heart of our work.

“But now, we have encountered a dilemma we cannot resolve,” they said.

“This is a sad day for neglected and abandoned children,” Romney said in a statement. “It’s a mistake for our laws to put the rights of adults over the needs of children.

Let’s read that last sentence again.

“This is a sad day for neglected and abandoned children,” Romney said in a statement. “It’s a mistake for our laws to put the rights of adults over the needs of children.

Damn straight. Better that they should be homeless, parentless, unloved, and raised by a system where they fall between the cracks and grow into heartless, mindless criminals, than raised by those selfish queers and their uppity laws.

*sigh*

Last night’s “House”

17-1/2 hours later, and I still haven’t quite recovered from the startling realization that that old, OLD man was Johnny Fever.

*sigh*

Not the Oscars

I didn’t watch the Oscars, as usual, but I did see about three minutes of the red carpet. If I ever have cause to buy an ultra formal gown again (doubtful) I’m definitely buying it from whoever made Amy Adams’s dress. That baby had pockets. That’s priorities.

I watched Grease instead, on VH1, and I only have one thing to say about that too. In Greased Lightning, they censored the words “shit” and “tit,” but not “pussy wagon.” *blink. blink.*
