Daylight Savings Weirdness

I’ve tried online help and calling on the phone, to try to get a definite answer from Charter, and I’ve gotten two clueless woman who had no idea what I’m talking about.

The daylight savings time change will be three weeks early this year, so any electronic gadget that usually changes automatically, is at risk of not changing. I know the major OS companies are pushing out an update, so that hopefully our computers won’t be wrong for three weeks. And they patched our servers at work.

But I can’t get an answer on whether my DVR will be ok. Will the shows I record be handled correctly, or will I need to shoot for a show three hours earlier and hope for the best? I can’t get anyone to tell me. They just babble at me that the time is sent from Charter. Well, duh. But is Charter going to be correct?

Time changes on Sunday morning, and if my Desperate Housewives 1/2 Hour News Hour isn’t recorded, I’m seriously considering canceling my service.

Biking militants die when bomb explodes prematurely

CHEECHA WATNI, Pakistan (AP) — Three Islamic militants died in eastern Pakistan when a powerful bomb they were transporting by bicycle accidentally exploded Saturday near a bustling cattle market, police said.

Local police chief Mohammed Bashir said the cattle market with hundreds of customers may have been the target, or police who had gathered for a funeral service at the home of an officer recently killed in a gunbattle with militants.

Three young men killed by their own anger and senseless violence, and hundreds of prospective victims safe? Now this is a terrible shame. (That they didn’t tell us if any cattle were hurt. Go Darwin!)
