Beware the fury of the patient man.
[Ehud] Barak says Israel does not intend to allow Islamic Hamas militants who rule Gaza to continue firing rockets and mortars on Israel’s southern communities.
Barak says there is a time for calm and a time for fighting. Speaking at a news conference Saturday, he said “now is the time for fighting” and that “the operation will expand as necessary.”
Israeli warplanes retaliating for rocket fire from the Gaza Strip pounded dozens of security compounds across the Hamas-ruled territory in unprecedented waves of airstrikes Saturday, killing at least 155 and wounding more than 310 in the single bloodiest day of fighting in recent memory.
About. Damn. Time.
War and killing is all these monsters understand, dropping their cowardly rockets on civilian areas in Israel during peace time, and then crying about not having their own homeland. A new generation of “Palestinians” needs to learn that Israel happens to be better at war than they are, and provoking them is a grave mistake. (Er, no pun intended.)
Finish it this time, please, dears. No matter what the UN says.
(I’ll be interested to see how Obama — and specifically Rahm Emanuel — feel about this. For all his many liberal views, Emanuel is notorious for being extremely pro-Israel.)
Bettie Page, Majel Barrett, and now f’ing Eartha Kitt, in less than two weeks?!
You’ve GOT to be kidding me. Damn it. I get that heaven needs hot, clever, funny chicks. I do. But Ann-Margret, Brigitte Bardot, Raquel Welch — please keep your heads down until you get an all-clear. Thanks.
DAMN it all.
[ Note: "Why do we even HAVE that lever?!" *sniffle* ]
Merry Christmas, everyone. And a semi-belated Happy Hanukkah.
Have a safe, lovely, and joyous one. And give your loved ones an extra hug. I have to spend this one alone (preparing for a legal matter next Monday), and really? It kinda bites.
We need some global warming
Icicles are swarming
Al Gore’s at the window
His theories he’s reforming
Yes we need some global warming
To stop the frostbite forming
We need some global warming NOW.
[I'm here all week. Tip your waitstaff.]
Also, can somebody tell me how to train a dog to pee in the bathtub? Thanks.
Bad week for pretty young things of my parents’ generation, dammit.
The lovely Majel Barrett passed away on Thursday. You probably remember her as Nurse Chapel, if you remember her at all, but it was a big deal that she was Pike’s Number One in the pilot. A female first officer, in the sixties? Really?
Of course, she was also Mrs Gene Roddenberry, and the voice of the computer in every series. Supposedly, she’ll also voice the computer in the upcoming JJ Abrams version. And that, if nothing else, makes me happy.
Not any particular commentary on the issue, exactly. The words just struck me immediately when I heard them, and it amused me.
Rod Blagojevich, on his current state of infamy, and his plan for dealing with it:
“Thank you very much. I’m here to tell you, right off the bat, that I am not guilty of any criminal wrongdoing, that I intend to stay on the job, and that I will fight this thing every step of the way. I will fight. I will fight. I will fight.”
Hee. Nice choice of wording, there, Rod.
I know. It’s a vague link without any reference. Just trust me and listen. :o)

Just futzing with the stylesheet, quickly fixing a couple of vanilla wp things that have been irritating me. If you see anything weird, let me know.
Hmm. I did say less nerd, didn’t I? Um. So how about that bailout, huh?
This has been bugging me for months, and it’s not anyone who reads this site, but I need to get it off my chest:
If you’re going to tell someone a secret? Especially a big, life-altering secret? You might consider letting her know it’s a secret.
Especially if it’s someone who you barely know, and who therefore would have no reason to think you’d ever tell her anything confidential. Much less something importantly confidential.
Otherwise, don’t be surprised when she turns to her best friend to discuss it, who happens to be related to you. Because it’s kind of a big deal.
And she’s likely to feel like shit about it for a long time, even though it’s YOUR fault.
Here endeth the lesson.
