Ending the charade

I don’t even know where to start…

The United Nations bankrolled the production of thousands of banners, bumper stickers, mugs, and T-shirts bearing the slogan “Today Gaza and Tomorrow the West Bank and Jerusalem,” which have been widely distributed to Palestinian Arabs in the Gaza Strip, according to a U.N. official.

The Palestinian Authority’s withdrawal committee developed and produced the posters and other items using U.N. money, Mr. Rothermel said.

In addition to the slogan “Today Gaza and Tomorrow the West Bank and Jerusalem,” many of the materials displayed the logo of the United Nations Development Program

Can we please stop pretending, and get out of the UN, now? And get the UN out of the US? These freaks are simply repulsive.

Sheesh. They could have just created a site on Cafepress instead.

  • By Tanya, August 17, 2005 @ 10:49 am

Seriously. And then everyone could get one! Stupid UN.

  • By Andy, August 17, 2005 @ 11:24 am

I really wish we would just tell the UN to f#ck off and kiss our @ss. Then go do our own thing while they go do their anti-sematic thing.

  • By Jay, August 17, 2005 @ 3:01 pm

See here’s where we differ…the fact that the Palestinians used UN money is different from the UN actually producing the stuff themselves. If, for example, I gave Venomous Kate $100 towards dentistry and she blows the money on crack using the logic of Matt and the NY Sun then I’m buying crack.

  • By Tanya, August 17, 2005 @ 3:21 pm

If your name is professionally embossed on the bag of crack, good luck convincing the police that you weren’t involved.

  • By Matt, August 17, 2005 @ 3:36 pm

Well then Jay, there should obviously be an investigation of some sort, huh? If the money was earmarked for a different purpose but used to produce something vile. But, if you were to read the whole article, you’d see that they got exactly what they paid for.

“Mr. Rothermel, in the Fox News interview, argued that the slogan, which predicts an Israeli disengagement from the West Bank and, presumably, East Jerusalem, is a message that is “consistent with the relevant U.N. resolutions and Security Council resolutions about the status of Palestine.”

I guess I’ll have to educate myself about the UN resolution kicking the Jews out of Jerusalem.

  • By Matt, August 17, 2005 @ 3:48 pm

Damn you, Tanya. That’s what I meant.

  • By Cato the Elder, August 17, 2005 @ 4:14 pm

I say, pack up the UN and drop the whole thing in Gaza City. They’ll be among people they claim to love, we’ll get a prime piece of real-estate to renovate in NY, and the Jew-haters of the world can watch as the Palis cannibalize each other once all the Israelis are gone.

As for that bit about Jerusalem, fuggetaboudit. Porkers will perch in the olive trees first.

  • By David, August 17, 2005 @ 5:25 pm

The funny thing is that the UN offices here in Jerusalem are located on what has been known since ancient times as ‘The hill of evil counsel’. Fitting.
